2015 Comhaltas Concert Tour of Ireland

This presentation by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann commemorates through our Irish song, music and dance, with narration, the long sequence of events that led to the 1916 Rising.
It traces the quest for Irish cultural and political independence, beginning with the 1798 Rebellion, moving on to Young Ireland in the 1840s, Fenianism in the 1860s and the Gaelic Revival of the 1880s onwards.
Echoes of 1916 culminates in the Easter Rising which consolidated republicanism as a central part of Irish nationalism.
